Santa Barbara Rally

Tour Details

Beautiful Santa Barbara welcomes you with an emerald sea and a backdrop of the Santa Ynez Mountains. Often referred to as the “Riviera of the West,” this lovely community enjoys a temperate climate, perfect beaches and Mediterranean-style buildings.

Meet and greet on our first day here with a Get Acquainted Party and Welcome Dinner before we kick off the rest of the week with a packed schedule of fun and exciting activities.

Santa Barbara Courthouse

A guided tour of Santa Barbara on Day 2 takes us through the city, including the courthouse – a stunning Spanish Colonial-style building of elegant arches and red-tiled roofs. The Sunken Gardens are also located here, and we can wander among a collection of trees from more than 25 countries. At the Santa Barbara Old Mission, we’ll explore this historic landmark structure built by a Franciscan order in 1786 and home to an active parish, museum and gift shop.

Wine Tasting

Tingle your taste buds on Day 3 with a Santa Ynez Wine tour and lunch. Then it’s off to Solvang (Danish for “sunny field”), a small city that savors its European past with Old World architecture, bakeries and shops. A tour of the nearby Mendenhall Museum features a private collection of vintage gas pumps, road signs, race cars and racing memorabilia.

Miniature Horses

Day 4 is a day of “horsin’ around,” first taking us to Monty Roberts Flag is Up Farm, an internationally famous starting point for some of the world’s most successful racehorses. Once we’ve met the big guys, we’re off to greet the little guys at Quicksilver Miniature Horse Farm. These little squirts are not ponies – they’re the result of centuries of selective breeding from full-scale horses. They’re friendly and personable with people.

Whale Watching

Now we’re back to some VERY big guys on Day 5 with a whale-watching cruise in the Santa Barbara Channel, a natural environment for over 27 different species of whales and dolphins. It continues to be a marine kind of day with a trip to Stern’s Wharf and the Museum of Natural History Sea Center. You can really get your hands wet here while you interact with a myriad of sea creatures, even sharks! This educational facility offers exhibits that focus on everything from fins to fur.

On Day 6, the close of our time here, we finish up our Goodbye Continental Breakfast and bid farewell to our new friends and this eclectic community. We reflect on our new experiences and look forward to the adventures ahead.
